Updating of index: Mantals tax records

About a year ago, ArkivDigital launched an index titled, Quick find: Mantals tax records  earlier called Table of content censuses (link to the original blog http://blog.arkivdigital.net/find-the-correct-tax-register-with-our-new-index/). The index Quick find: Mantals tax records makes it much easier for you to find the right tax record for a specific parish which saves you much time as a researcher.

During the last months, we have photographed about 150 additional tax record volumes from Blekinge, Halland and Skåne. These account for tax records from 1820 and going forward for parishes where the church records were burned. These recently photographed tax records  are now searchable in our index, Quick find: Mantals tax records. This update includes 4,702 new posts and the total number of posts in the Quick find: Mantals tax records is now approximately 440,000 posts.

New table of content census

If you research in a parish in Blekinge, Halland or Skåne where the household records are missing, a tip is to search in the Quick find: Mantals tax records These tax records can function as a replacement to the household records even if they often do not include as much detailed information.

In order to search in the Quck Find: Mantals tax records in ArkivDigital, you do the following:

  • Log in at app.arkivdigital.se
  • Click on Index Search.
  • Select, Quick find: Mantals tax records in the list under Index source.
  • Write in the desired parish and year and click on Search.
  • Click on Open Image for the desired volume in the search list and the first page in the actual tax record will be opened.
