Kathy Meade of ArkivDigital will be the presenter at the Swedish Genealogical Society of Minnesota’s meeting in Edina, Minnesota on Saturday, March 19th.

The title of the presentation is “Exploring Further in ArkivDigital – Discovering New Records”.  There will be a demonstration on how to search for less commonly used records such as tax/ population registers, military pension records, Swedish American church books, passenger ship manifests, passport journals as well as other record types. In addition, new features in the beta version such as searching in the 1950 Swedish census and other new features will be presented.

If you happen to be in the Minneapolis area, this will be a great opportunity to learn more about the rich resources within ArkivDigital.

ArkivDigital at RootsTech 2016

Rootstech2

RootsTech is the largest family history event in the world and RootsTech 2016 (February 4-6) held in Salt Lake City, Utah was bigger than ever. There were over 25,000 registered attendees from all 50 U.S. states and 40 countries, 260 exhibitors and over 250 interesting and informative lectures.

Kathy Meade, ArkivDigital’s North American representative, gave a demonstration of ArkivDigital to a packed room on Thursday, February 4th. Many of the attendees expressed their excitement about the future searchable name register for the 1880-1920 household records which will make the search process so much easier.

ArkivDigital had a booth in the exhibit hall with three workstations and there was a steady stream of visitors every day asking questions about ArkivDigital and how to use the service, how to find the place where their Swedish ancestor came from in Sweden, look-ups in the 1950 Swedish census, requests for reading assistance in reading records and many other Swedish genealogy and research questions. We wish to thank all the customers who stopped by the booth to say ArkivDigital is the best for Swedish research. But we were especially moved when one woman stopped by our booth and put her arms around the monitor and said, ”Oh, I love ArkivDigital. You gave me my family!”
