Marriage record reading example in Skedevi parish

Posted on June 5, 2018 by ArkivDigital

Today, we will look at a marriage record from the Skedevi parish in Östergötland county in 1859. While many of the church record headings and content become more standardized after 1860, prior to that time the format and content of the record varies by time and minister. Below is the image of the marriage record from Skedevi parish in 1859. The parish heading is “Wigda par i Skedevi Socken År 1859” or in English “Married couple in Skedevi parish in the year 1859”.
